In our ongoing effort to provide our customer with the best possible service, we have installed powerful new web servers to power our services-- and they have a new name. We're asking all customers that have bookmarked or used myvoip.zayoms.com, voip1.zayoms.com, or voip2.zayoms.com to update them to http://portal.bwvoip.net. This is our new, official web address for your voice services portal.
| Q: When do I start using it? |
| A: Right away. Both sites will be running normally until the end of March, 2010. At which point, we will point the site over to the new servers. Most browsers will give a security warning if they're still using the old URL (but will still work if you ignore the error), which is why we wanted to make sure our customers knew ahead of time. |
| Q: What's the difference between the old site and the new site? |
| A: They both look and function exactly the same. They're running exactly the same content-- except the new site is running on brand new hardware which is many, many times faster. |
| Q: Wait, I need some time...will the old address still work? |
| A: For awhile, yes. We understand updating bookmarks on every machine can take some time. You will still be able to access the web portal using the same address, but in the near future, your web browser will likely display a security error, warning you the name has changed. There may be a time when we need to take down the old address, so please make sure to update your bookmark, rather than ignoring the security warning each time. |
| Q: What's the quickest way to update my bookmark or favorite? |
| A: In modern versions of Firefox or Internet Explorer, you can just right-click on the entry in your Favorites or Bookmarks menu, and select "Properties" to change the URL. |
| Q: What is "BWVOIP" anyway? |
| A: As many customers know-- Zayo's Voice-over-IP platform is powered by a product called "BroadWorks" (made by a company called BroadSoft). This is what provides all the enhanced calling features our customers have come to rely on and use every day. BWVOIP.net is the new domain for our unique services ...combining BW (BroadWorks) + VOIP (Voice-Over-IP). |
